For the 2nd time this season, Minnesota West sophomore Derek Buysse has been named the MCAC Southern Division Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Oldham signs with UTEP

Minnesota West sophomore wide receiver Elliot Oldham on Wednesday signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at the Division I level with UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso)

The Detroit, Michigan native led the Minnesota West Bluejays in receiving with 31 catches for 452 yards and scored 4 touchdowns and was a MCAC All-Division First Team selection this past season.

Worthington Christmas Youth Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament

The Worthington Christmas Youth Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament will be held this Friday (December 5th) at Worthington High School. This is an all-trophy tournament.

The division are Pre-Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade and 5th & 6th Grade

Weigh-Ins will begin at 4:30pm with wrestling to begin at 6:00pm on December 5th. The Entry is $10 per individual at the door or $50 for a team, also payable at the door. The entry fees DO NOT include insurance.

NFLPA Statement on Adrian Peterson's suspension by the NFL

The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) has released a statement on their website ( about the NFL's decision to suspend Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson for the rest of the current season:


The decision by the NFL to suspend Adrian Peterson is another example of the credibility gap that exists between the agreements they make and the actions they take. Since Adrian’s legal matter was adjudicated, the NFL has ignored their obligations and attempted to impose a new and arbitrary disciplinary proceeding.

Buysse named MCAC Player of the Week

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has released their first Men's Basketball Weekly Awards for the season and Minnesota West sophomore Derek Buysse has been named the Southern Division Player of the Week

Buysse, a sophomore from Marshall, averaged 25 points per game, 7 rebounds per game and 3.3 steals per game in 3 games last week as the Bluejays opened up the season with a 1-2 record.

Minnesota West will host Mount Marty (JV) on Thursday night at the Center for Health and Wellness on the Worthington Campus at 8:00pm
