The accolades continue to pile up for Minnesota West Bluejay sophomore running back Reuben Linton II.
Earlier this week the Minnesota College Athletic Conference released their weekly football awards and for the second straight week, Minnesota West sophomore running back Reuben Linton II has earned Player of the Week honors.

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has released their weekly Football awards and Minnesota West Bluejay sophomore Reuben Linton II has been named the MCAC Southern Division Special Teams Player of the Week
Linton, a sophomore from San Antonio, TX, racked up 117 punt return yards on 5 returns, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns from 57 and 55 yards out. Reuben Linton II also had 80 yards rushing on 10 carries and scored on a 14-yard TD run as the Minnesota West Bluejays picked up a 41-7 season-opening victory over Vermilion on Saturday (8/31).
The Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association has named four men who will be
inducted into the MBCA Hall of Fame this November.
The purpose of the MBCA Hall of Fame is to give special recognition to the people of Minnesota who have made significant contributions
to promote high school basketball in the state via their achievements and service.
The 2013 inductees are:

The induction ceremonies will be held at the MBCA Hall of Fame Luncheon on Saturday,

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released their 2013 All-State and All-District Softball teams.
In Class 1A, Harris-Lake Park junior Noreen Morrow was named a Class 1A All-State Honorable Mention selection. Morrow was also chosen to the Class 1A Northwest All-District Team.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College is pleased to announce TD Hostikka has accepted the position of Head men’s Baseball Coach.
Hostikka has served as the Head Coach of the Worthington VFW team for the past four seasons. He has also served as Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Nicolett High School and as an assistant basketball coach at the high school level.
A native of Washington State, Hostikka said, “I am looking forward to the challenge of building a complete program that competes year after year.”
The Wilmont Cardinals pushed across two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to break a 1-1 tie and hold on for a 3-1 win over the Worthington Cubs in Game 1 in the best-of-three series of the opening round of the Region 13C tournament.
The Region 13C Tournament field has been set as tournament play begins on Wednesday night. (7/24)
The Wilmont Cardinals received the #2 seed in the tournament and will open up play against the #7 seeded Worthington Cubs. Game 1 will be in Wilmont at Butts Probst Field at 7:30pm Wednesday. Game 2 is in Worthington on Saturday at 2:00pm with Game 3 back in Wilmont if necessary on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm
