America's Farmers Programs

Today, tune in as Sonja Langseth covers an overview of two very important programs in which YOU can make a difference: America's Farmers Grow Rural Education and America's Farm Mom of the Year.

Heather Wolfe, Monsanto Customer Advocacy Manager, leads America's Farmers Grow Rural Education. She informs us that the program is currently accepting farmer nominations for rural public school districts to apply for grants of $10,000 or $25,000 for math and science curriculum enhancement. The program will be awarding $2.3 million in grants this year and school districts must be nominated by local farmers to become eligible to apply.

For more information about the program, visit GrowRuralEducation.com. Nominations are due April 1, 2016!

Then we turn to another Monsanto outreach program that has been garnering even more attention over the years: America's Farm Mom of the Year. Tracy Mueller, Monsanto brand manager, tells us about this recognition program that allows us to honor farm moms nationwide. Nominate your mom (or sister, or aunt, or co-worker, or neighbor!) today!

Just visit AmericasFarmers.com during the nomination period and submit a brief essay online or by mail that explains how the nominated farm mom contributes to her family, farm, community and agriculture. Nominations are due March 29, 2016!
