Cowdin named Minnesota West Wrestling Head Coach

Earlier this week on Tuesday, Minnesota West Community and Technical College announced that Bryan Cowdin will be the next head wrestling coach for the Bluejay Wrestling team.

Cowdin is a Worthington High School Graduate who placed at state 4 times in his prep career and was a 2-time state champion for the Trojans.  Cowdin was also chosen as a Wrestling USA Magazine High School All-American during his senior year of high school in 2001.

Bryan Cowdin is a Minnesota West alumnus and during his one season wrestling for the Bluejays in 2001-2002, Cowdin was named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Outstanding Wrestler of the Year and was a NJCAA All-American.  After his time at Minnesota West, Cowdin moved on to South Dakota State University where he was an All-American for the Jackrabbits

Cowdin served as an assistant last season in 2017 for the Bluejays and takes over for Bob Purcell, who was the Bluejay head wrestling coach since 1997.
