Hinkeldey & Unke earn MCAC Volleyball honors

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has released their 2018 Volleyball awards and two Minnesota Lady Jays earned honors this season

Minnesota West Lady Jay Andrea Hinkeldey was named a MCAC All-Southern Division First Team selection this season.  The sophomore from Heron Lake (MN) led the Lady Jays this season with 201 kills for an average of 4.67 kills per set, which ranked #1 in the entire conference.  Hinkeldey also had 66 blocks for an average of 1.53 blocks per set which was 3rd best in the MCAC.   Hinkeldey was also named to the MCAC All-State Volleyball First Team.

Minnesota West Lady Jay setter Haley Unke was named to All-Southern Division Second Team.  The freshman from Lakeview (MN) led the Lady Jays with 432 set assists this season for an average of 8.31 assist per game., which was 2nd best in the Southern Division and 4th best in the entire MCAC.  She also led the Lady Jays with 34 services aces this season, tied for 5th most in the entire conference.

The Lady Jays finished this season with a 7-9 overall record and a 6-6 record in MCAC Southern Division play.
