Ramsey named MCAC Player of the Week

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has released their Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the final time this season and Minnesota West guard Lexie Ramsey was named the Southern Division Player of the Week.

Ramsey had a team-high 21 points in the Lady Jays win over Ridgewater last Wednesday along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. She followed that up with 12 points, 2 assists and 6 steals in the Lady Jays 75-62 win over Rochester on Saturday.
Lexie Ramsey is playing some of her best basketball during the stretch run to the playoffs. Over the last 5 games, Ramsey is averaging 15.2 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game and 3.8 steals per game. For the season, Ramsey is averaging 12 points a game along with 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Lady Jays The MCAC regular season has wrapped up and the Minnesota West Lady Jays have found out who they will play in the Region 13A semifinals on Saturday

With Rochester winning over Fergus Falls last night, both the Yellowjackets and the Lady Jays finished the season with identical Southern Division records so a coin toss determined which team got the #3 seed

The Lady Jays won the coin toss and received the #3 seed and will face #2 seed Anoka-Ramsey in one region semifinal Saturday at 3:00pm in LaCrosse (WI)

Western Tech is the top seed and host, the Cavaliers face Rochester in the other semifinal at 1:00pm Saturday with the winners to play for the Region title at 1:00pm Sunday afternoon
