Tinklenberg named Special Teams Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Minnesota West Bluejay football player Caleb Tinklenberg has been named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Western Division Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.

Tinklenberg, a sophomore from Pipestone, connected on a 20-yard fields goal and was 3-of-4 on extra point tries in the Bluejays 56-36 loss to Northland on Saturday.

Tinklenberg also started a quarterback for the Bluejays in the loss to Northland, going 19-of-32 for 261 yards and threw for 4 touchdowns.  Tinklenberg also had a rushing touchdown, having a hand in all 36 points scored by the Bluejays. 

On the season, Tinklenberg is 3-for-6 on his field goal attempts with a long of 44 yards and is 18-of-21 on extra points this season.

The Bluejays are 2-4 on the season and are off until Friday, October 19th when they host Vermilion.
