The Worthington Trojan Baseball team scored three first-inning runs and built an early lead that helped bring home an 8-5 win over Heron Lake-Okabena on Monday at Heron Lake.
Worthington Trojans Varsity scored in the first on a two-run double by King Blanchette and an RBI single by Eli Gaul.
Easton Sauerbrei led Worthington Trojans Varsity's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Logan Huisman shut down Heron Lake-Okabena while he was on the rubber. Huisman held Heron Lake-Okabena hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
