Weekly "Bingo Night" 
It's "Bingo Night" every Tuesday evening at the Reading Community Center! Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. with a payout of over $900 each week! Play 26 games each night! The Reading Community Center uses profits from Bingo to help keep the doors open for community groups to utilize, such as the Elk Tip Toppers 4-H club, Reading First Responders, Reading Booster Club, and other groups.The Reading community center is a 501c3 organization.

Divorce Care
Anyone that is divorced, divorcing, separated, or ending a long term relationship is invited to Divorce Care for Adults and Divorce Care for Kids Sunday evenings from 5:30PM until 7:30PM at the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer.  Participants must pre-register Monday through Thursday by calling 712-262-3016 anytime between 9AM and 3:30PM.

Nixle - Public Safety System
Nixle is a community information service via the Worthington Police Department dedicated to helping you stay connected to the information that matters most to you. You can receive alerts for closed roads, weather alerts, safety alerts, missing persons, general notifications, special events, canvassing witnesses for leads and other evidence. Senior Dances
Come dance to big band sound music at the Spirit Lake Senior Center from 2 to 5 p.m. every last Sunday of each month (weather permitting). Potluck snacks will be featured at intermission. Everyone is welcome!

Senior Dining Volunteers
Lutheran Social Service Senior Dining is currently looking for volunteers. They are in need of individuals to deliver meals to home bound seniors, or pack up and get them ready for delivery. We have three routes with approximately 15 meals per route. The time commitment would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the task. We can work with any schedule, whether it is once a week or once a month the help is needed. If you could help in this capacity call Kris at the Center for Active Living at 376-6457.

Free Dental Implants
Mission Outreach a division of Four Square Enterprises is offering free dental implants by a licensed dentist here in Minnesota for qualified applicants that are seeking employment but are lacking the confidence and self esteem needed. Worthington Farmers' Market
The Worthington Farmers Market is now in full swing. Shop for fresh, local produce and homemade goods on Tuesdays from 4 – 7 p.m. at the parking lot at Second Avenue and 10th Street in downtown Worthington and on Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Ace Hardware on Oxford Street. The market continues each week through the growing season. Stop by each week and see what is new!

Fall Harvest Food Drive
Sterling is inviting its local communities to help stock the shelves of local organizations in preparation for this year’s holiday season. Individuals dropping off a bag of non-perishable food items at their local Sterling location from Wednesday through Saturday will receive an exclusive Sterling coupon — 40 percent off on up to four gift or toy items — as a thank you for supporting the Fall Harvest Food Drive. In addition to collecting non-perishable food items, Sterling will donate $2 to local food shelves for each bag of donated canned goods — up to $500 per Sterling location.


October 22 - Runnings' Ladies Night

Runnings will be sponsoring a Ladies Night on Wednesday, October 22nd, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Purchase a ladies night bucket and get 15% off whatever fits inside. October 23 - Community Connect
The Community Concerns, Housing, Homeless and Hunger Committee is sponsoring its second Community Connect event from 3-6 p.m. Thursday in the American Reformed Church gymnasium, located at 1720 North Burlington in Worthington. The event is designed for local individuals experiencing economic hardships to connect with community services and support.

October 23 - Eclipse Viewing Party
Minnesota West Community & Technical College will host an eclipse viewing party on the afternoon of Thursday, October 23, 2014 4:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. on the southeast campus lawn, near the intersection of Thompson and Lexington Avenues. Join us at the eclipse viewing party to see the moon partially block the Sun as seen from Minnesota. We will have telescopes and safe solar viewing equipment to watch the eclipse take place. October 24 - Artist Reception
Minnesota West Community & Technical College will be hosting an Artist Reception for Annie O’Fallon from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, October 24th in the lobby of the Center for Performing and Fine Arts. October 24 - PEBC's Halloween Hike
The Prairie Ecology Bus Center's Halloween Hike returns for another year on Friday, October 24th from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The hike, guided by the PEBC’s naturalists, will include night vision tricks, sniff tests, stealth maneuvering and other tactics. October 24 - Halloween Family Night at the Y
The Worthington YMCA will celebrate "Halloween Family Night" at the YMCA on Friday, October 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. Activities include inflatables, Halloween walking tacos and treats, family swim, carnival games, face painting, family Halloween photos and more. October 24-25 - Worthington Relay For Life Fundraiser
Sanford Worthington Relay For Life Team Spotlight Children’s Photo Sessions will be held the afternoon of October 24 and all day October 25, 2014 at the hospital. October 24-25 - Windom's Haunted Sghoul House
It's Windom's Haunted Sghoul House at 1012 5th Avenue, featuring the scariest haunted house around (PG 13 rating). Enter 6 levels of horror at your own risk! Cost is $10 per person. October 25 - "A Tribute to the Eagles"
The Fabulous Armadillos and Collective Unconscious present a Tribute to the Eagles on Saturday, October 25th at the Worthington Memorial Auditorium. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.! All seats are reserved - cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door, with children or college students $10 or $15 at the door.

October 25 - PVM Nursing Home Bake Sale

October 25 - Halloween Party
You're invited to an all-ages Halloween Party in Currie at the Grand Opening of the White Space (a new multi-use space for special events) on Saturday, October 25th from 3 to 6 p.m. Enjoy all-ages activities, such as costume contests, party pictures, games and prizes, caricature drawings and more!

October 26 - Church Harvest Dinner
The St. Matthew Lutheran Church Harvest Dinner will be held October 26th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Serving includes pork loin, potatoes, gravy and dressing, green beans, pies and other desserts. Cost is $8 for adults, children 3-10 $4, and children under 3 are free. Take out is also available (call 507-376-6168) along with a bake sale and card shop.

October 27 - Music Therapy
Everyone is invited to come learn about Music Therapy Monday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at The Daily Apple in downtown Worthington. Music Therapy is an evidence-based practice that uses music to reach a variety of goals. It can be used to help people of all ages and varying diagnoses. Come learn more about music therapy from board certified music therapist, Molly Bishop.

October 29 - Worthington Hospital Auxiliary Masquerade Jewelry Sale
The Worthington Hospital Auxiliary offers its Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale on Wednesday, October 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Funds raised by the Auxiliary during this sale will be used to benefit patients and visitors at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

October 29 - Windom Career Fair
The 2014 Windom Career Fair is on Wednesday, October 29th at the Windom Community Center. Students are welcome -- dress for success as there are interview opportunities -- from noon to 3 p.m., with the public event from 4 to 7 p.m. Employers represent several industry sectors, including (but not limited to) education, manufacturing, healthcare, financial, retail, and more.

October 30 - Secondary Traumatic Stress Webcast
Linda Gensheimer, PhD and Cynthia Packer, LISCW will present Secondary Traumatic Stress: Building Resilience for Professionals on October 30th from 9 to 12:30 p.m. and will be broadcasting live to Worthington. Live web stream is $25. Participants will learn to integrate practices that help diminish the negative impact of secondary traumatic stress. October 31 - Trunk 'n Treat
Trunk 'n Treat returns to the Luverne Main Street on Friday, October 31st from 4 to 5:30 p.m. A safe venue will be created for children from Freeman to McKenzie on Main, with Chamber Members handing out candy from their trunks. Find the list of participating businesses at

October 31 - Kids' Fest
It's Kids' Fest at the Redwood Falls Assembly of God Church on Friday, October 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy fun for the whole family, such as the corn maze, free pumpkin patch photo, games, candy, prizes, plus delicious hot dogs, nachos and cheese, fresh apple cider just $.25! October 31 - Luis Brown-Pena Workshop
Have you ever thought about hiring an ex-offender? Luis Brown-Pena is coming to speak to the area employer groups in Worthington on October 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. above the library at MN West – Worthington Campus. Topics that will be covered include, Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Workforce Investment Act, Federal Bonding Program and High Morale.

October 31-November 2 - "Dracula" Performances
Minnesota West Community and Technical College Department of Theater presents Dracula October 31st (7:30), November 1st (7:30), and November 2nd (2:00). This adaptation is by Minnesota playwright Steven Dietz and restores the suspense and seduction of Bram Stoker's classic novel to the stage. All performances will take place in the Fine Arts Theater on the Worthington Campus of Minnesota West. Tickets are available at the door a half hour before curtain ($6 Adults and $4 Students).


November 1- Comedy Show
A fantastic comedy show with 4 of Minnesota’s Funniest Comedians on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 at the Worthington Event Center. November 9 - Annual Soup & Pie Dinner
The Lismore Presbyterian Church will host its annual soup and pie dinner and auction on November 9th at the American Legion Hall. The Country Store opens at 10:30 a.m. featuring many homemade baked goods, breads, cookies, pies, and gifting ideas. Dinner starts at 11 a.m., featuring four different soups and a variety of desserts. Plan to stay for the auction, which starts at 12:30 p.m. Buy chances for the big ticket prize from any church member! Cost for dinner is a free will donation.

November 12 - Turkey Supper

The St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lakefield invites you to its Turkey Supper on Wednesday, November 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. Serving includes turkey and all the trimmings! Cost is $10 for adults, children 6-10 $5 and children under 5 eat free.

November 13 - "Late Night Catechism"
Entertainment Events, Inc. presents "Late Nite Catechism" by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan on Thursday, November 13th at 7:30 p.m. at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. November 21 - Worthington Holiday Parade
The Worthington Holiday Parade is rapidly approaching on Friday, November 21st. Businesses and organizations are invited to have an entry, with no cost! November 22 - "Evening with the Stars"
Join us for an Evening with the Stars on Saturday, November 22nd at the Minnesota West Worthington Campus. This is a fundraiser for student scholarships. A dinner starts at 6 p.m. at the Minnesota West commons, with a silent auction and entertainment to follow. Cost is $20 per person or $100 for a table of six. December 2-4 - Love INC Christmas Tree Forst
The 4th Annual Christmas Tree Forest returns, as presented by Love in the Name of Christ of Worthington. Organizations/businesses provide a decorated Christmas tree with a theme of their choice, with viewing at the First United Methodist Church. Deadline to register is Wednesday, November 12th.
