Weekly "Bingo Night"
It's "Bingo Night" every Tuesday evening at the Reading Community Center! Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. with a payout of over $900 each week! Play 26 games each night! The Reading Community Center uses profits from Bingo to help keep the doors open for community groups to utilize, such as the Elk Tip Toppers 4-H club, Reading First Responders, Reading Booster Club, and other groups.The Reading community center is a 501c3 organization.
Anyone that is divorced, divorcing, separated, or ending a long term relationship is invited to Divorce Care for Adults and Divorce Care for Kids Sunday evenings from 5:30PM until 7:30PM at the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. Participants must pre-register Monday through Thursday by calling 712-262-3016 anytime between 9AM and 3:30PM.
Nixle - Public Safety System
Nixle is a community information service via the Worthington Police Department dedicated to helping you stay connected to the information that matters most to you. You can receive alerts for closed roads, weather alerts, safety alerts, missing persons, general notifications, special events, canvassing witnesses for leads and other evidence. Come dance to big band sound music at the Spirit Lake Senior Center from 2 to 5 p.m. every last Sunday of each month (weather permitting). Potluck snacks will be featured at intermission. Everyone is welcome!
Senior Dining Volunteers
Lutheran Social Service Senior Dining is currently looking for volunteers. They are in need of individuals to deliver meals to home bound seniors, or pack up and get them ready for delivery. We have three routes with approximately 15 meals per route. The time commitment would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the task. We can work with any schedule, whether it is once a week or once a month the help is needed. If you could help in this capacity call Kris at the Center for Active Living at 376-6457.

Free Health Screenings
Open Door Health Center is offering a FREE health screenings at our mobile site in Worthington every Thursday in February. The mobile site is located in the Shopko parking lot and is open from 11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Dates are February 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th. Screenings include: blood glucose (sugar), blood pressure testing, and skin, foot and vision checks. Girl Scout Cookies
The O’Brien County iowa Girl Scouts of the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Council will have 8 varieties of cookies: Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Pattie, Carmel Delites, Shortbread, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Cranberry Orange Crisp, and Thanks A lot at $4.00 per package for sale to our customers. Two of the troops will have the Trios Gluten Free Cookie for $5.00 per package until sold out. . February-March 5 - Relay of Nobles County Fundraiser
The Relay for Life of Nobles County is holding a Papa Murphy's Pizza sales fundraiser. Sales will be held from February 9th – March 5th. Pizza toppings include: cheese, pepperoni, sausage, beef, all meat, supreme and chicken garlic. Pizza size is large/14 inches. Prices vary from $10 - $14. February 26-March 1 - "Anything Goes"
The Worthington High School Performing Arts presents Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" on February 26-28th at 7:30 p.m. and on March 1st at 2:30 p.m. at the Memorial Auditorium. All seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased at the Auditorium Box Office. ISD 518 Activity passes will be honored at the March 1 performance only.

The St. Mary's Knights of Columbus is hosting a Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, February 27th. Serving goes from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Elk Lodge, offering deep-fried fish, baked potato and beans, cole slaw, lettuce and assorted salads, and beverages. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children (10 and under).
February 27 - Bullhead Feed
The Dundee Legion is offering a Bullhead Feed on Friday, February 27th at the Dundee Legion Hall. Serving goes from 4:30 p.m. until gone, featuring bullheads, potato salad, baked beans and a beverage. Adults are $8 with children under 12 $4.
February 27-28 - "Gypsy" Performance
River Valley Players will present the musical “Gypsy” on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, at 7:30 in the evening; with a matinee on Sunday March 1, at 2:30 P.M. in the Forster Auditorium at Central Lyon High School, Rock Rapids. Advanced tickets go on sale for members Monday, February16, and to the general public on Wednesday, February 18. Reservations may be made by calling the Rock Rapids Chamber office at 712-472-3456.

The Round Lake Legion invites you to its Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 1st from 8 a.m. to noon. Serving includes all-you-can-eat pancakes scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice.

Melvin Fire Department is having a breakfast fundraiser serving pancakes, sausage, omelets, coffee, juice, milk on Sunday March 1, 2015 at the Melvin Legion Building from 9am to 12:30pm. Cost is $5 for adults, $2 for children under 12. Additional donations will be accepted. All proceeds go to equipment updates.

Generally, everything is completed by 7:15 a.m. There is a free will offering for the breakfast with $4.00 being suggested at each breakfast.
March 5 - WCOC Informational Trip: Shades of Ireland
The WCOC is offering an informational meeting on a "Shades of Ireland" trip. This meeting will be held Thursday, March 5th at the Chamber at 6:30 p.m. Receive information on the cost, lodging and the itinerary for the trip. The Grassroots Community Theatre presents "Murder at the Pie Auction" at the Elks Lodge on March 5th and 7th! The Nobles County Library and Nobles County Historical Society present The Genuine One, an original story by Doug Wolter. It's the Radio Works Farm & Home Show and Spring Break Conference at Minnesota West March 6th & 7th on the Worthington Campus. This event will feature over 40 Home and Farming Vendor Booths along with 2 featured speakers, Dough Bergven from POET and Art Barnaby from Kansas State in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts on Friday, March 6th with additional speakers and demonstrations throughout Friday and Saturday in the Center for Sports and Fitness. Rock Nobles Cattlemen’s Association will be grilling 500 free beef burgers at 3:00 p.m., Friday and the Nobles County Corn and Soybean Growers Association will be grilling 500 free pork burgers Saturday at noon. The Heron Lake Fire Department Relief Association is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 8th at the HL-O Elementary School. Serving goes from 9 a.m. to 12:30 pm. and includes pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee will donation. Proceeds to go HLFD for equipment and training.
March 10 - Kindergarten Open House
The annual Fulda Kindergarten Roundup is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Elementary School. Information will be sent to all children living in the Fulda district who are listed on the school census and eligible to attend Kindergarten next fall (children eligible MUST be 5-years-old before September 1, 2015). March 13 - Senior Linkage Line Educational Seminar
Join the Senior Linkage Line as they hold an educational seminar aimed at helping professionals, volunteers and family learn more about the challenges of working with older adults that may be struggling with anxiety and/or depression. This is a free event held Friday, March 13th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Minnesota West campus (room 302 - Health and Wellness Center).
March 14 - Annual Dundee Gun Club Raffle
The 64th Annual Dundee Rod and Gun Club Mulligan Stew Raffle drawing is taking place Saturday, March 14th at the Lutheran Church beginning at 4:30 p.m. Cost per raffle ticket is $1.00, with drawings for a Remington 870 12 gauge, a Remington 870 20 gauge, a Ruger 10/22 rifle, plus several miscellaneous prizes.

March 19 - Active Living Plan Meeting
The City of Worthington is currently in the process of developing an Active Living Plan to help make the City more pedestrian friendly. Our first public meeting is at the Worthington Fire Hall on March 19th, 2015, at 5:15pm to 6:30pm (830 2nd Ave, Worthington). During this meeting we will discuss local issues and concerns regarding walking and biking. This information will be summarized and will help to create potential goals that will be discussed at the second public meeting. Public participation is a critical component of the plan. May 9 - Color Run
The Lakefield Immanuel Lutheran School invites you to its Color Run on Saturday, May 9th at Lakefield's North City Park Shelter. The run begins at 10 a.m. and concludes with lunch.
May 29 - Stargazing
Go Stargazing with Mike Lynch! Lynch, a broadcast meteorologist at WCCO Radio will be hosting an astronomy and stargazing class, along with a half hour of orientation of the night sky with maps and constellation diagrams provided. Cost is $10 for individuals, $25 for families. It's happening on Friday, May 29th at 9 to 11 p.m. at the Chatauqua Park Shelter House.
