Weekly "Bingo Night" 
It's "Bingo Night" every Tuesday evening at the Reading Community Center! Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. with a payout of over $900 each week! Play 26 games each night! The Reading Community Center uses profits from Bingo to help keep the doors open for community groups to utilize, such as the Elk Tip Toppers 4-H club, Reading First Responders, Reading Booster Club, and other groups.The Reading community center is a 501c3 organization.

Divorce Care
Anyone that is divorced, divorcing, separated, or ending a long term relationship is invited to Divorce Care for Adults and Divorce Care for Kids Sunday evenings from 5:30PM until 7:30PM at the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer.  Participants must pre-register Monday through Thursday by calling 712-262-3016 anytime between 9AM and 3:30PM.

Nixle - Public Safety System
Nixle is a community information service via the Worthington Police Department dedicated to helping you stay connected to the information that matters most to you. You can receive alerts for closed roads, weather alerts, safety alerts, missing persons, general notifications, special events, canvassing witnesses for leads and other evidence. Senior Dances
Come dance to big band sound music at the Spirit Lake Senior Center from 2 to 5 p.m. every last Sunday of each month (weather permitting). Potluck snacks will be featured at intermission. Everyone is welcome!

Senior Dining Volunteers
Lutheran Social Service Senior Dining is currently looking for volunteers. They are in need of individuals to deliver meals to home bound seniors, or pack up and get them ready for delivery. We have three routes with approximately 15 meals per route. The time commitment would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the task. We can work with any schedule, whether it is once a week or once a month the help is needed. If you could help in this capacity call Kris at the Center for Active Living at 376-6457.

Free Dental Implants
Mission Outreach a division of Four Square Enterprises is offering free dental implants by a licensed dentist here in Minnesota for qualified applicants that are seeking employment but are lacking the confidence and self esteem needed. Junior Achievement Volunteers Needed
The Business Education Committee is still seeking volunteers to teach Junior Achievement. They are in need of (5) kindergarten volunteers, (4) first grade volunteers, (1) third grade volunteer and (1) fourth grade volunteer. November 26 - Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The 2015 Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Thursday, November 26th at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington. All area residents are invited to attend! Serving goes from noon until 1:15 p.m. with take-out meals available upon request by calling 507-227-1539. If you'd like to volunteer to assist, food prep and set-up help is greatly appreciated beginning at 8 a.m., with clean-up starting at 1:15 p.m. Any questions, call the church at 376-6148.

November 26 - Westbrook Thanksgiving 5K
The Westbrook Thanksgiving 5K will return again on November 26th! Start time is at 8:00 a.m. from Sanford Westbrook Medical Center (weather-permitting) with the high school as a back-up. Cost to participate is a donation for Mary and Martha's Pantry! 

November 28 - Round Lake's Annual Winterfest
It's Round Lake's 7th Annual Winterfest on Saturday, November 28th. "Show off your shack" tailgating starts at 4 p.m. with houses on display around the Legion. Enjoy pulled pork sandwiches as well. A silent auction and raffle will run from 4 to 7 p.m. with the JJRu Band at 7 to 11 p.m.

November 30-December 5 - Holiday Festival
It's the Holiday Festival in Jackson! Monday, November 30th kicks off the week long event with Creative Spirits Painting. Thursday, enjoy the Many Voices concert at the Good Shepherd Church and the Jingle Mingle on Friday at the Jackson National Guard Armory. Saturday is full of events with Santa's Workshop, a craft and vendor expo, horse-drawn wagon rides, bingo, caroling, a parade, and more. December 1 - Community Virtul Dementia Tour
Join in for a Community Virtual Dementia Tour on Tuesday, December 1st from 9 to 1 p.m. at the Buffalo Ridge Apartments. This valuable tour provides community based awareness and education to the general public, business owners, city planners and other members of the community. December 1-3 - Annual Christmas Tree Forest
The 5th Annual Christmas Tree Forest by Love INC of Worthington, will be available for viewing Tuesday, December 1st through Thursday, December 3rd from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day at the First United Methodist Church. A closing ceremony will be held Thursday from 7:30 to 8 p.m. This year's theme will be "All Hearts Come Home for Christmas." Get your business or organization together to decorate a tree with a theme of your choice (doesn't have to match the event theme) and help raise funds! Donations are raised through votes (donations) placed into donation boxes at each tree.

December 2 - Lutefisk & Meatball Dinner
The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield is hosting a lutefisk and meatball supper on Wednesday, December 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Adults are $14 with children under 12 $7. December 2 - ICPD Workshop
The Individuals and Communities Acting Now to Prevent Diabetes (I CAN PD or ICPD) program teaches adults the steps for reducing their risk of diabetes through lifestyle changes. An informational workshop about ICPD will take place December 2nd from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Worthington YMCA. Questions, call 507-295-5318.

December 3-5 - Traditions of Christmas
Join in with the Traditions of Christmas in Sibley Iowa. The Christmas Ornament Hunt runs Thursday through Saturday, with the main event going on Saturday; Gift and Bake Sale, breakfast with Santa, a matinee, vocal music and a madrigal dinner and more.

December 3 - Worthington ALC Presentations
- The Worthington ALC presents: Paper Tigers – One high school’s unlikely success story on Thursday, December 3rd at MN West Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., Worthington ALC MAAP STARS Presentation – “We are the ALC” from 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. and the showing of “Paper Tigers” from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Freewill donations accepted at the door. December 5 - Creative Spirits OKOBOJI
Gather your friends & join Round Lake Vineyards for a fun night of painting on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Creative Spirits OKOBOJI will provide all of the supplies for each participant to complete an acrylic painting! December 5 - WCS Auction
The Worthington Christian School auction will be held Saturday, December 5th at 1170 Eleanor Street.. The lunch counter opens at 11 a.m. with pizza, pies, bbqs, bars, and more. Be sure to stay for the live auction starting at 11:30 a.m., featuring toys, tools, gift certificates and more! There will also be silent auctions going on throughout the event. All proceeds benefit the WCS!

December 5 - Winterfest
You're invited to celebrate Winterfest in Luverne! Come enjoy the Winterfest Arts and Craft Show on Saturday, December 5th at the Commons and Cardinal Gym of the Luverne Public Schools from 9 to 4 p.m. For a complete listing of Winterfest activities, visit

December 6 - Lutefisk & Meatball Dinner
The First Lutheran Church in Worthington is hosting a Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner on Sunday, December 6th with two different serving times: one at 2:30 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. Cost for adults is $14 and $4 for students 16 and under. Tickets are available at Hy-Vee, Ax Photo, or at the church office. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

December 12 - Benefit for Erin Johnson
Save the date for a benefit for Erin Johnson, who was diagnosed with stage three lymphoma on December 12th at Brian's in Fulda. This will be a doubles tournament featuring a dart and mixed scotch pool (draw partners). Registration starts at 2 p.m. with the kickoff at 3 p.m. Winners split the pot!
