The City of Adrian’s Water Nitrate Plant is experiencing mechanical issues. We ask the following individuals to not drink from Adrian’s public water source:

WORTHINGTON – During a public meeting for the Oxford Street Redevelopment Plan, attendees were asked to look at a map of the Worthington area and put a blue sticker on the area they felt was the biggest priority in the city. Semi only loss during JBS fire

WORTHINGTON – A semi tractor was completely destroyed during a fire at JBS Tuesday night, according to Worthington Fire Chief Rick von Holdt, but for the most part, that was the extent of the damage, he said.

The Worthington Fire Department was called to the hog processing facility shortly after 9 p.m. for a fire in a building on the north side of the plant. At the scene, the department opened the doors of the building and thick black smoke rolled out. WORTHINGTON – During a joint meeting and work session Tuesday evening between the Worthington City Council and the Nobles County Commissioners, the bulk of the discussion was dedicated to what collaboration is being or can be done between the two entities to keep costs down and make for better communication while serving the residents in their districts.

Southwest Minnesota schools receive Safe Route to School grants

MINNESOTA – Schools in Worthington, Windom, Jackson, Lakefield and Pipestone are all recipients of Safe Routes to School mini-grants that support walking and biking programs at K-12 schools in the state. Those grants recipients were announced today by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Mini-grants totaling $125,000 will support the Safe Routes to School program at 64 schools, reaching nearly 40,000 students. An additional $125,000 will fund bicycle fleets, trailers and supplies in four communities committed to working with 37 schools to teach bicycle safety.

WORTHINGTON – The Worthington City Council on Monday night approved a recommendation to appoint Director of Community and Economic Development Brad Chapulis as Interim Administrator until a full-time administrator is hired. Previously, the council had voted to appoint the seven department heads as co-interim administrators under the former council.

PIPESTONE – A Pipestone man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being extricated from his burning house Sunday morning. According to information released by the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office, the Fire Department, Ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a structure fire at a residence at 317 Main St East. The residence sustained moderate damage on the north side.

WORTHINGTON – A public hearing regarding the redevelopment of Oxford Street will take place Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Worthington Fire Hall. Nobles County K-9 is awarded bullistic vest

WORTHINGTON - The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office K9 Frank’ee has been awarded a ballistic vest thanks to a non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., and a private donation of $950 that was received by James Manson of West St. Paul. Manson also donated $950 to outfit K9 Dakota’s vest of the Rochester Police Department.
