WORTHINGTON – For the second year, Love INC has received a grant from the Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation to help support their Clearing House Helpline.

Love In the Name of Christ of Worthington, or Love INC, is an affiliation of local churches, networked to provide coordinated help to neighbors in need. The Clearing House Helpline is a number people can call for assistance with a wide variety of needs. The caller is sometimes referred to a resource that already exists, or sometimes the staff at Love INC has to get creative to solve a problem.

MITCHELL, SD – A Worthington man arrested in South Dakota is facing 14 counts of criminal activity, including aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, grand theft and possession of a loaded firearm.

29-year-old Nicholas Speckmeier of Worthington and 29-year-old Samantha Lane of Sioux Falls, SD, were arrested after a chase that involved two states and an exchange of gunfire. WORTHINGTON – Three months after allegedly attacking his wife and adult daughter with a hammer, a Worthington man entered pleas of not guilty to multiple counts of first-degree attempted murder and assault with great bodily harm in Nobles County District Court during an arraignment hearing earlier this week.

WORTHINGTON – The City of Worthington needs to be out of the golf course business, according to a statement made by Mayor Mike Kuhle on Tuesday evening during a city council work session. Following a recommendation made in early August by the Prairie View Golf Course Long Range Planning Committee, the Worthington City Council on Tuesday evening gathered for the special meeting to discuss decommissioning Prairie View Golf Links.

WORTHINGTON – No new information is available in the investigation into the homicide of Jan Pigman-Kruse, who was shot to death in the early morning hours Wednesday at her home in Brewster. Authorities have not made an arrest in the case, but have said there is no threat to public safety.

WORTHINGTON - The Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force on Friday assisted in the arrest of a fugitive from Garland, Texas, wanted as the suspect in a murder case.

According to information released by task force commander Nate Grimmius, Garland investigators were in Pipestone County attempting to locate Adrian Jimenez Regalado, who was suspected of killing a man in Garland. BREWSTER – Funeral arrangements were released Friday for Janette Pigman-Kruse, a 40-year-old woman who was the victim of a homicide in the early morning hours Wednesday at her home in Brewster.

According to information released by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Pigman-Kruse was killed by a gunshot at approximately 2:40 a.m. Authorities were alerted by a 911 call from her husband, who told dispatchers someone had come into the home and shot his wife. As of mid-day Friday, there was no one was in custody for the homicide.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department and Nobles County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public to beware of a fake Dish Network van. There have been reports of the vehicle’s occupants attempting to break into unoccupied houses.

WORTHINGTON – Janette Pigman-Kruse’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, according to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening.

Pigman-Kruse, age 40, was killed by a shotgun wound to the chest in the early morning hours Wednesday at her home in Brewster. Authorities were alerted to the situation when her husband called 911 at approximately 2:47 a.m. to report someone had come into their home and shot his wife.
