Of course, there's always the musical entertainment fun factor as well.
This year, the King Turkey Day Board of Directors and Radio Works are proud to present the 2014 King Turkey Day Entertainment, featuring Drake White and the Big Fire with special guest Chris Hawkey on Friday night and Hairball on Saturday! Tickets are $10 for Friday night with Hairball advance tickets $15 or $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased via the link above, or www.kingturkeyday.net, the Worthington Chamber of Commerce, the Daily Apple, or at Radio Works Headquarters.
Alabama singer/songwriter Drake White describes his sound as "country rockin' freestyle blues" with influences by Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. His song "The Simple Life" praises the things that really matter. Drake has toured with Willie Nelson, Eric Church, Kid Rock, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town and Blackberry Smoke. You can catch Drake White at the Worthington Arena on Friday, September 12th.
The Chris Hawkey brand is about to expand considerably with the release of his debut album "Chris Hawkey" and what he’s calling the “CH14 Summer” tour. Chris and his six-piece band will be hitting the road to promote the CD and its debut single, “My Kind of Crazy.” Appearances in the Twin Cities area will be followed by shows throughout the spring and summer at major-draw fairs and festivals such as Fire Fest (St. Cloud, MN), Lakes Jam (Brainerd, MN), and We Fest (Detroit Lakes, MN). Chris couldn’t be more ready. As part of Rocket Club, the singer has shared the stage with artists like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and Eric Church, opening in front of thousands of country music fans. Now he’s hoping it’s his turn as a solo artist.
Hairball is the world's ultimate "80's Rock" impersonation act. Seasoned rock stars, Haiball band members take pride and passion in their recreation of the most influential acts in rock history. The lights, the sounds and the performance will have you wondering if this isn't the real deal! Hairball consists of two vocalists Bobby Jensen and Kris Voxx, guitarist Happy, bassist Shawn "Sports" Pop and drummer Colt Python, all of whom are dedicated rockstars.
