All three races in Worthington now contested

WORTHINGTON – The open filing period for city council positions has two business days to go, and in Worthington, all three open seats will have contested races, as of Friday.

The three seats up for election this year are that of mayor, council member of Ward 1 and council member of Ward 2. Those seats are currently held by Alan Oberloh, Ronald Wood and Mike Kuhle, respectively.

As of 5 p.m. Friday, for the position of mayor in the city of Worthington, Alan Oberloh has filed for the position once more, and Mike Kuhle has thrown his hat in the ring.

In the Ward 1, Ronald Wood has refiled, and Larry Janssen will also be on the ballot.
In Ward 2, with Kuhle now vying for mayor, Jeanene Townswick and Rodolfo “Marty” Martinez will battle for the position.

Others interested in running have until close of business house on Tuesday to file, which is also the day of the primary election.
