WORTHINGTON – The Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation teamed up with the Manna Food Pantry during the March Food Campaign, offering a 50 percent match for up to $25,000.The Manna Food Pantry, through contributions from individuals, area churches and the community, raised over $43,000, the health care foundation matched $21,609 and the total came to $64,828.14. The check for the total was presented to the pantry on Friday.
Foundation Executive Director Jeff Rotert said this is the second year they have offered the grant to the Manna Food Pantry.
WASHINGTON -- The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed the presence of highly pathogenic H5N2 avian influenza (HPAI) in a commercial layer flock in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. The flock of 200,000 chickens is located within the Mississippi flyway where this strain of avian influenza has previously been identified. CDC considers the risk to people from these HPAI H5 infections in wild birds, backyard flocks and commercial poultry, to be low. No human infections with the virus have been detected at this time.
ST. PAUL – The Minnesota State Fair 2015 Grandstand Concert Series is filling up with some pretty big names these days, and two more were confirmed to the line-up this week. Meghan Trainor with special guests Charlie Puth and Life of Dillon will perform Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The legendary Merle Haggard will perform on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m., with a special guest to be announced at a later date. Tickets for each show are $35 with all reserved seating.

GreatLIFE Chairman and CEO Tom Walsh, who owns the Burger King franchise in Worthington, made the announcement today, stating it has been a big task putting things together, but an important one, knowing the pride that people have in their golf course.
