Rasche named Libero of the Week in MCAC

Minnesota West sophomore Libero Maddie Rasche has been named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference's Southern Division Libero of the Week.

Rasche, a sophomore from Heron Lake, had 10 digs in the Lady Jays 3-0 home victory over Western Technical College. For the season, Rasche ranks 6th in the Southern Division in digs per game, averaging 4.3 digs per game this season.

Playoff seedings have been released for a number of area football teams.

The Worthington Trojans are the #5 seed and will travel to Blue Earth on Tuesday (10/22) to face the #4 seed Blue Earth Area Buccaneers at 7:00pm. 2 Minnesota West Bluejay Football Players have earned Player of the Week honors from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

Reuben Linton II has once again been named the MCAC’s Southern Division Offensive Player of the Week, the 3rd time he has earned that honor this season. Linton rushed for 138 yards on 13 carries and scored 3 touchdowns in the Bluejays 27-7 win over MSCTC-Fergus Falls on Saturday. The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has released their weekly football awards and this week two Minnesota Bluejay Football players have earned Player of the Week honors.

Minnesota West Inside Linebacker Matt Shively has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the Southern Division. Shively, a sophomore from Oakdale (MN), had 15 tackles, including 2 quarterback sacks with a forced fumble and fumble recovery in the Bluejays 26-6 home victory over Ridgewater on Saturday.
