Aquallo named MCAC Player of the Week
Published by onMinnesota West freshman guard Tyler Aquallo was named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Aquallo, a 6’3” guard from Rapid City, South Dakota, averaged 23.7 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, 5.3 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game for the Bluejays last week as Minnesota West went 2-1, picking up wins over Central Lakes and Fond du Lac. Aquallo scored 32 points in Minnesota West’s loss to the Iowa Lakes Lakers last Wednesday.
So far this season, Aquallo is averaging 15.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He has upped his scoring average to 21 points per game in MCAC Conference play. Aquallo is shooting 49 percent from the floor, including 37 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Minnesota West Bluejays are 7-3 overall as they head to the holiday break. Minnesota West will be back in action in 2013 at the Central Lakes Classic in Brainerd on January 4th and 5th.
