Kremer signs 10-day contract with Northwoods League squad

Wilmont native and 2010 Worthington High School Graduate Steven Kremer has recently signed a 10-day contract to play baseball with the Alexandria Blue Anchors of the Northwoods League.

Kremer, now a sophomore at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, is coming off a fantastic season for the Mustangs. This season, Kremer played in 35 games for the Mustangs, finishing second on the team in batting average with an average of .374, second on the team in doubles with 17, fourth on the team in RBI’s with 22 and second on the Mustangs in on-base percentage with a .566....

The Minnesota Baseball Coaches Association has released their All-State Baseball teams for the 20-13 season.

On the Class AA All-State Baseball team, Blake Rogers of Reading was named to the All-State team, Rogers, who just finished his senior season for the Worthington Trojans, had an excellent 2013 season, hitting .455 during the season, with an on-base percentage of .600. He finished the season with 18 RBI’s on 25 hits this season with 3 doubles, 2 triples and 3 homeruns. Worthington fares well at Minnesota State High School Trap Shooting Tournament

The Minnesota State High School Trap Shooting tournament was held June 7th through 9th in Alexandria at the Alexandria Shooting Park, the largest trap shooting facility in Minnesota. They hosted the largest event of its kind in the nation with around 2000 shooters for the weekend.

Junior Varsity:
There were 96 teams participating for a total of 744 shooters. Worthington ended up tied for 9th place, hitting 432 birds out of 500:

Jordan Hall finished in a tie for 9th place
Joshua Majerus finished in a tie for 10th

The Minnesota Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association has also released their Team and Individual Academic Honors for the 2013 season.

Teams earning Gold Awards (Team GPA of 3.75 or greater) include Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in Class A

Teams earning Silver Awards (Team GPA of 3.50 or greater) include Adrian, Windom and Southwestern United in Class A. In Class AA, Jackson County Central and Luverne earned Silver Awards as well.

A number of area athletes will take part in the 25th annual Minnesota High School All-Star Girls Softball Series on June 9th, co-sponsored by the Minnesota High School Fastpitch Coaches Association and the National Softball Association. The Minnesota Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association has released their All-State Team for the 2013 season.

On the Class A All-State Team, Mountain Lake Area senior Janessa Peters and Murray County Central senior Taylor Schreier were chosen to the Class A All-State Second Team.
