Local Sports Scoreboard from Friday, April 17th
High School Softball:
Heron Lake-Okabena def. Worthington 7-6
--Worthington trailed 5-1 until scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on RBI hits from Betsy Thompson, Allie Bruns and Carly Byrne. The score was tied 6-6 in the top of the 7th inning when Ida Rogers-Ferguson drove in the go-ahead run on an RBI single. Rogers-Ferguson was the winning pitcher going all 7 inning for the Wildcats. Byrne took the loss for the Trojans giving up 7 runs but only 2 were earned as the Trojans committed 5 errors on the day. Worthington falls to 1-5 on the season and will host Redwood Valley on Monday

College Softball:
Minnesota West Lady Jays def. MSCTC-Fergus Falls 10-9
--With the game tied 9-9 in the bottom of the 7th, Sonja Peters led off with a double and scored on a game-winning RBI double from Rebecca Kazemba. Brianna Mullaney had 3 hits abd a RBI for Minnesota West

Minnesota West def. MSCTC-Fergus Falls 7-6
--The Lady Jays got another walk-off victory as Dani Hermeling drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning on a bases-loaded walk. Kristen Anderson had 2 hits for the Lady Jays and Rebecca Kazemba was the winning pitcher in both games. Minnesota West improves to 6-15 overall and 6-8 in MCAC Southern Division play. The Lady Jays were scheduled today to host Ridgewater but that doubleheader has now been moved to Monday beginning at 4:00pm
