--The Lady Jays were held to just one hit in the game, an RBI double by Jenny Majerus in the 3rd inning. Minnesota West falls to 5-22 on the season and will be on the road for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend. On Friday they will face Anoka-Ramsey before facing St. Cloud Tech on Saturday
High School Baseball:
Marshall def. Worthington 7-0
--The score was 0-0 until the 5th inning when Marshall put 5 runs on the board on their way to the victory. CD Douglas was the winning pitcher for Marshall, throwing a complete game shutout. Ryan Lee took the loss for the Trojans. Carson Hagen had 2 hits to lead the Trojans at the plate with Alex Purdy, Trevor Wietzema, Ryan Lee and Roque Soto each adding a hit for the Trojans. Worthington falls to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in the Southwest Conference and will head to Adrian to face the Dragons on Thursday afternoon
Luverne def. Windom 8-3
--Gunnar Olson and Logan Norman each had 2 hits and an RBI for the Cardinals. Windom was led by Jack Mellstrom’s 3 hits with Devin Nielsen and Sam Huska each picking up 2 hits for the Eagles.
Redwood Valley def. Jackson County Central 16-14
--Mitchell Macek and Peter Nasby each had 3 hits for JCC
Adrian def. Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove 13-3 (5 innings)
--Adrian broke through with 9 runs in the 3rd inning on their way to the win. Logan Rogers had a 3-run single in that 3rd inning. Rogers got the win on the mound and struck out 10 Falcons on the day. Jordan Dingmann had 3 hits for the Dragons with Rogers and Jake Diekmann-Bullerman each had 2 hits as Adrian improves to 7-2 on the season and 5-0 in the Red Rock Conference and will host Worthington on Thursday
Murray County Central def. Edgerton/Southwest Christian 8-7
--The Rebels trailed 7-3 going into the top of the 7th inning when MCC rallied and took the lead when T.J. Van Peursem stole home and the Rebels held on for the win. Van Peursem led the Rebels with 3 hits and a homerun.
Mountain Lake Area def. Southwestern United 3-2 (9 innings)
--Tyler Duerksen drove in the winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the 9th for the Wolverines. Andrew Hirsch went all 9 innings on the mound for the Wolverines, giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits while striking out 7. Aaron Fest took the loss for the Wildcats and struck out 11.

Worthington won the 4x800 meter relay (Oliver Wolyniec, Troy Feller, Luis Dieguez & Anthony Hartman), won the 4x200 meter relay (Jessie Guerra, Troy Eknitphong, Erik Landgaard & Will Dudley), Jessie Guerra won the 100 meter dash, Erik Landgaard won the 200 meter dash, Will Dudley won the pole vault, Gbrown Ochothow was 1st in the 300 meter hurdles, Amanuel Fissiha won the 3,200 meter run and Caleb Kill won the Shot Put and Discus for the Trojans.

--Worthington won the 4x800 meter relay (Meredith Moore, Alicia Darling, Olivia Ebbers & Kacey Contreras), 4x200 meter relay (Allison Kremer, Emma Thuringer, Katelyn Walters & Anna Kill), Olivia Ebbers won the 800 meter run, Alicia Darling won the 1,600 meter run, Meredith Moore won the 3,200 meter run, Achan Alwal won the discus and Maer Abella was the winner in the shot put. Worthington will host another Track & Field meet on Thursday
Tampa Bay Rays def. Minnesota Twins 7-3
--All 3 of the Twins runs came in the 3rd inning on a solo homerun by Brian Dozier (6th of season) and a 2-run homerun by Chris Collabello (2nd of season). Kyle Gibson suffered his first loss of the season, giving up 7 runs on 10 hits in just 3 innings of work. The Twins fall to 9-10 on the season and game 2 of the series with the Rays can be heard tonight on AM 730 KWOA at 5:40pm
Albert Pujols hit 2 homeruns for the Los Angeles Angels to become the 26th player in MLB history to hit 500 homeruns in a career. He is the first player to hit his 499th and 500th homerun in the same game. 3 months past is 34th birthday, he is the 3rd youngest player to reach the milestone. Alex Rodriguez and Jimmie Foxx were both 32 years old when they hit their 500th.
