Opening Round
#4 Luverne def. #5 Worthington 3-2
--Worthington scored both of their runs in the top of the 1st inning on a Cardinal error and a RBI single from Trevor Wietzema. That single would be Worthington’s only hit of the day. Luverne got a run back in the 1st and 4th innings as the game remained tied 2-2 until the bottom of the 7th inning when the Cardinals loaded the bases with one out. With the Trojan infield in, Luverne scored the winning run on a Trojan error, eliminating Worthington from the playoffs. Connor Crabtree was the winning pitcher for Luverne, going the distance and giving up the one hit, walked 2 and struck out 7. Nathan Braaksma took the tough loss, going 6 and 1/3 innings and giving up 3 runs (2 earned), on 6 hits, walked 3 and struck out 7 as Worthington ends the season with a 9-12 record.

Minnesota Twins def. Boston Red Sox 7-2
--Ricky Nolasco improves to 5-1 on the season, going 7 and 2/3 innings and giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, walking none and striking out 5. Eduardo Escobar had 3 hits to lead the Twins and Trevor Plouffe added 2 hits inlucding a 3-run homerun in the Twins’ 6-run second inning.
